Our solenoid valves are 1/2" female NPT. To adapt the solenoid valve to fit 1/2" copper tubing or CPV plastic tubing one needs to buy adapted fittings. We created kits to facilitate the adaption and make it easier to buy our solenoid valves to replace the original valve. If our adapter is screwed into the solenoid valve the existing copper tubing may be used.

  • How do you wire a pilot operated solenoid valve?

  • How do I know which voltage to choose?

    We recommend you consult with a licensed electrician to determine which voltage is best for your application. However, in short, the voltage of your solenoid valve is going to match that of your coin timer. For instance if you have a 12 V AC coin timer installed you will need a 12 V AC solenoid valve. The material type and operation type will not effect the operation of the unit so long as the voltage matches. Please note, the recommended solenoid valve for the 115 V AC coin timer is a 120 V AC solenoid valve, as 110 V AC, 115 V AC, and 120 V AC are commonly used in combination of each other. Please see the following diagram for further information here.

  • What is the difference between a standard solenoid valve and a pilot acting solenoid valve?

    A direct acting solenoid valve receives a signal sent from the coin timer that directly opens the solenoid valve to allow the water to flow. A direct acting solenoid valve requires more electrical current to operate. For this reason if a direct operating solenoid valve is used on a lower voltage system (12 or 24 V) 12 gauge wire or thicker is required to ensure proper functionality.

    A pilot acting solenoid valve receives a signal sent from the coin timer that activates and internal pilot switch which then opens the solenoid valve and allows wate to flow. A pilot acting solenoid valve takes less electrical current to operte and is better suited for low voltage systems such as 12 and 24 V. In instances where 12 gauge wire or thicker is not available, the pilot acting solenoid valve will work better.

  • What is the difference between a brass and a nylon solenoid valve?

    We offer solenoid valves made of nylon or brass. Brass is a very strong material and can withstand high temperatures, including water of 180 degrees fahrenheit and more. Brass is the more conventional choice, however it is heavy and corrodes easily in hard or acidic water. Brass solenoid valves are also NOT frost resistant. Nylon solenoid valves are frost and corrosion resistant, however they are not strong and can break easily over time. Nylon solenoid valves do NOT withstand heat or hot water well and can be deformed with high hot water temps.

  • Is this solenoid valve made in America?

    No, this solenoid valve is made in China.
